Why does Junie B. Jones hate the bus so much?

Junie B. Jones hates the bus because it always smells bad. It’s true, the bus always smells like something is rotting, and it’s really gross. Junie B. is not the only one who’s unhappy about this – everyone on the bus seems to be agitated by the smell. Mrs. Kucinich, the bus driver, has tried everything she can to make the bus smell better, but nothing seems to work.

One day, Junie B. gets an idea. She’ll ask Mrs. Kucinich to put some perfume on the bus! The kids on the bus will love it, and Mrs. Kucinich will be able to fix the smell problem! Junie B. goes to talk to Mrs. Kucinich and explains her plan, but Mrs. Kucinich doesn’t seem very happy about it. She says that she doesn’t have any perfume, and that if Junie B.’s going to suggest something she should at least have a good reason for doing so! Is there anything that can be done about it?

We all know that Junie B Jones can be a bit of a troublemaker. But sometimes, her antics just get out of hand. Case in point: the time she convinced the bus driver to let her ride in the back.

Now, that bus wasn’t exactly sanitary. And poor Junie soon found out just how smelly it could get! The rest of the kids on the bus started making fun of her, and it was all she could do to hold down her lunch.

In the end, Junie learned her lesson and didn’t do anything like that again. But does that mean the bus problem is solved? Not by a long shot! There’s still plenty of places where Junie could cause a stink.
